Frequent questions

How can I invite a relative from Cuba to the Dominican Republic?

A special tourist visa system has been created in which Cuban citizens can travel to the Dominican Republic and join their relatives who live outside of Cuba. To be able to access this program, you must purchase a Tourism Package that includes the airfare and a stay in a hotel in the Dominican Republic.

What is the visa application process like?

The visa process is personal and there is no intermediary company in your application. For those who have difficulty accessing the Consulate in person for their first appointment, they can designate a person to act on their behalf. When purchasing your tourist package, you will be asked for all your personal information, both for those traveling from Cuba and also for their relatives residing in the USA, who will act as guardians for their relative. The time between purchasing the package, processing the visa and issuing it in the passport takes approximately 20 days.

Where do you buy the tourism package?

You can purchase it through YES Travel or through its affiliated agencies, which will offer you all the advice and help with the process. The flights are operated by the Dominican airline Air Century.

What days are the flights?

Flights operate weekly from Havana to the Dominican Republic.

How long can I stay in the Dominican Republic?

The visa is issued for ONE ENTRY ONLY. The packages we offer are for a minimum of 7 nights. If you want to return to the Dominican Republic, you will have to complete the entire process again.

What is the price of the visa?

The visa has a consular fee of $140 (US dollars), payable in cash to the Dominican Consulate in Havana. There is no agent authorized to collect this fee. Visas are NOT GUARANTEED. The Dominican Government grants the visa as a privilege, not a right. In case the visa is not approved for any reason, the consular fee charged by the Dominican Consulate is NON-Refundable.

What is the price of the Tourism package?

Packages from Cuba to the Dominican Republic will have different prices, which will mainly depend on the hotel where you stay. For more information, you can contact YES Travel directly.
