Aruba, a small island in the Dutch Caribbean off the coast of Venezuela, has a dry, sunny climate, clear beaches, and gentle surf. The constant trade winds bring cool breezes and cause the dividivi trees to lean to the southwest. The European influence is noticeable in the architecture with Dutch gabled roofs painted in tropical pastels. It is also evident in the language, as English, Dutch, and Spanish are spoken alongside the local language, Papiamento.
